us at a very special conference bringing together the best midwifery, birth and lactation professionals to share their knowledge and the ways they keep
the heart of MotherCare in their practices and teaching.
MotherCare is women serving women in ways that are empowering, nurturing, values nature, and supports families. MotherCare professionals include midwives, nurses, doulas, physicians, lactation specialists, educators, and activists. MotherCare providers work in diverse settings sharing a commitment to healthy mothers and babies.
Featured Speakers
Bonnie Gruenberg, CNM, WHNP, MSN, the author of the award-winning book Birth Emergencies Skills Training (BEST) Manual for Out of Hospital Providers, (2008, BirthMuse Press) and Essentials of Prehospital Maternity Care (2005, Prentice Hill). Bonnie is a faculty member of Aviva Institute,
and has a busy clinical practice working in Pennsylvania, working with a diverse and under served population.

Melissa Cheyney, Ph.D., CPM, LDM is an Assistant Professor at
Oregon State University. She is the author of the book Born at Home: The Biological, Cultural and Political Dimensions of Maternity Care in the United States (2011, Cengage) and her research was recently featured in a Time Magazine article. In addition to teaching, she has a home birth practice in Oregon.
